The
world is full of Google experts
PageRank is a score that
represents how important a page is on the web from 0 to 10. Google.co.uk
has a page rank of 8/10 and so too for Yahoo.co.uk
The White House has a Page Rank of 9/10 and No. 10 Downing Street has
a PR of 7/10.
Google works on the basis that when one web page links to another web
page, it is effectively casting a vote for that page. Consequently the
more votes that are cast for a certain page, the more importance that
page is.
So, why is it called PAGE RANK?
Co-founder of Google is LARRY PAGE and he created his method
of measuring a web page importance... That's it! Thankfully he wasn't
called Hank, Bank or Tank!
